LAS VEGAS — North Hagerstown senior Aaron Brooks added yet another significant championship to his ledger on Saturday.

Competing in the UWW Junior Freestyle 79-kilogram division at the Marine Corps U.S. Open, Brooks scored 12 straight second-period points to put away the University of Nebraska's Michael Labriola 14-3 in 5:05 in the championship match.

Brooks trailed 2-0 after a Labriola takedown in the first period, but got a reversal for a 2-2 tie at the end of the frame. Labriola got a point early in the second period, but Brooks scored six straight two-point moves to turn a thriller into a rout.

After scoring three technical falls on Friday, Brooks was forced to go the distance against Nebraska's Beau Breske in Saturday morning's semifinals, but prevailed in a 6-2 decision.

The UWW Junior division includes wrestlers born from the start of 1998 to the end of 2000. Brooks, who will graduate from North as a four-time state champion, multiple-time national champ and 2017 UWW Cadet world champ, is 17.
