The SUPER 16 is a program only for those beginner/inexperienced wrestlers that participate in the Future Champions events.
The wrestlers that accumulate 16 points or more will qualify for a Super 16 T-shirt on a date TBS at a site TBA. All other Future Champions guidelines, schedules and other rules apply.
Wrestlers earn 9 points for winning a tournament, 8 points for 2nd; 7 points for 3rd and 6 points for 4th. MSWA Kid's Director, Mike Clemens (email@example.com), will track the points and publish the standings on this site under the Super 16 Points Total tab. All SUPER 16 qualifiers that register to advance will receive a SUPER 16 t-shirt at the Watkins Mill event.
Objective: To provide a positive competitive wrestling experience for new to the sport or limited success level wrestlers and parents. Attempt to match wrestlers in similar ability groups based on age, years of positive experience, previous success, and tournament placements. Limit weight classes to 4 wrestlers in order keep tournament competition under 2 hours. Providing appropriate competition for our future champions and parents will help our sport grow. There is no state championship for these wrestlers unless they move up to the MSWA Youth State Tournament Series.
***Note regarding Future Champion wrestlers, once a wrestler qualifies for the MSWA Youth State Tournament, wrestlers are no longer eligible to compete in the Future Champion Series (which is designed for beginner and experienced wrestlers only). Wrestlers are considered advanced once they qualify for the MSWA Age-Wt State Championship Tournament.
***Note please make sure that you check your League Schedules prior to registering for an event. If you register for an event but cannot attend, transfers, credits, or refunds will not be issued.
***Be sure that you are registering for the right event. Some Future Champions events are held the same weekend (on a different day)and at the same location as a qualifier for Jr States. One has nothing to do with the other---no refunds if you register for the wrong event. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with questions
