...Patterson qualified for the Regional Dual Meet Championships. Our mistakes against Carver and Northwestern unfortunately cost us the #1 seed and the right to host the Regional Dual Meet Championships. As it is, we wrestle Urbana next Wednesday. I don't expect to be very competitive as an overall team, but we will hang around for the finals and scout. If these are the top teams in our region, then they must have some of the top wrestlers in our region. I encourage all coaches to check out their region's Dual Meet Championships to scout if you can. We don't want the first time our guys see these guy to be when they step on the mat at Regional Championships. This has been an exciting season and a step in the right direction for Baltimore City wrestling. I know District IX will be a blast.

With all due respect coach, please don't sell yourself or your team short. Wrestling is a great sport and every kid and every team has a chance until the final whistle and final match. Your team had a great season and certainly deserve this opportunity. Thanks for your efforts in continuing to build, develop, and mentor your kids. Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice. However, I know my kids and our specific team struggles in which I will not go into. I also know that this is a tall task for my 1st year wrestlers. We struggled a bit at the Overlea Tournament which I would most closely associate region level competition with. I am supremely confident in my coaching ability. If a kid has physical talents, work ethic and listens to me, I can produce a state champion. Heck, I already have. However, the work ethic isn't there or the overall experience for my current team. I also didn't say we would walk in there and lay down for anyone either. I never sell myself or my kids short. I do like to be realistic though. Maybe you could give me a call or shoot me an email before publicly accusing me of something like that.

Respectfully Submitted

For me it was the exact opposite. When I was little I loved the villains but now I find my self a little more interested in the good guys.
